Hello Sierra Point Cruisers!

We have a great opportunity to visit the new club at Westpoint in Redwood City! Below is information from their club to me about the club and logistics of the weekend.

PLEASE use the link to pay for your spot in the link below and write in "Sierra Point Cruis-out" in the special requests section. This will assure that we are on the guest dock near the club. Also, Please send me an email at ron@rondavis.com with your information, especially your phone number so I can start a group chat so that we can plan the details of out itinerary.

From Westpoint:

The docks immediately adjacent to our clubhouse and the restaurant are N and P docks. Going forward, we’ll mostly use N dock for boats visiting The Club, which is 390 feet, and P as expansion space. The use of N dock allows for very easy access to the clubhouse and restaurant.

Just FYI, for boaters who prefer to use land-based bathrooms, both The Club and the Restaurant have only standard bathrooms (no showers) that are open only during business hours. For 24-hour access to full bathrooms with showers, those are located on the other side of the harbor—a 3/4 mile walk from the N dock.

On Friday June 28th, the low tide of 0.32 feet is around noon, this does allow for a very nice trip down the bay in the afternoon. For boats that draft 7 feet (such as mine), I would suggest entering/leaving the slough at a 1-foot tide or higher - arriving anytime after 2 pm on Friday. On Saturday, high and low tides are both over 1 foot, come and go as you please. High tide on Sunday is around 8:30 am, making for an easy departure anytime Sunday morning for a return up the bay. Tide-wise, this is a great weekend to visit!

I have Sierra Point in the calendar for June 28th weekend. Unless you have cruisers that would prefer closer to a full bathroom, I have you heading to N Dock and P if needed, immediately adjacent to the clubhouse. For arriving guest boats, we do provide a complimentary escort boat to guide you from the main channel to the guest dock - hopefully, this helps calm anyone worried about “South Bay Shallow."

I was hoping you could give me a sense of how many boats and approx size in your typically cruising fleet… what might we expect? Also, what is your thinking for meal planning?

If you are considering Hurrica for lunch or dinner, planning ahead will be key, the restaurant is very popular on weekends, often sold out a couple weeks in advance. For smaller groups eating at Hurrica, the bar is open seating, if you arrive a bit early grabbing a seat at the bar is usually easy. Hurrica will be open for lunch and dinner, Friday thru Sunday. There is also a to go window on the side called H2Go, serving coffee and espresso drinks, soft serve and pastries, open from 10 am to 5 pm.

If you’d like to visit The Club at Westpoint, located above Hurrica, our hours are 11 am to 11 pm, Friday through Sunday. The Club bar is staffed during this time, and there is a Club-specific menu to grab a meal upstairs (time and menu vary—let me know in advance if this interests you). Of course, a lovely deck that overlooks the harbor is waiting your arrival.

If you’re thinking docktails or potluck meals, we can arrange to have a complementary “party barge” brought over for your use. If you’re thinking of splurging, we do have a larger party barge, wrapped in glass and fully furnished and includes umbrellas - it does require a rental fee. Let me know if this interests your group and I’ll provide info.

The slip fees are $2/ft/day up to 50 feet, and $3/ft/day up to 80 feet, includes energy charges. When you’re ready, all visiting boats need to make a reservation in Dockwa for Westpoint Harbor, please use this link:

IMPORTANT! Under special requests, write in "Sierra Point Cruise-out." Please remember to email me, Ron Davis, at ron@rondavis.com after you sign up with your contact information.
